Shankar lives with his wife Parvati in a small village in India. He hates his wife and ill-treats her. Shankar nurtures an illicit relationship with an young woman named Chamiya. A young engineer is deputed to Shankar's village to complete construction of a bridge. One rainy night the engineer is given shelter by Parvati. The engineer tries to take advantage of the situation and tries to molest Parvati. Parvati insults the engineer and asks him to leave her house. Shankar's friend Lukha sees the engineer entering the house and leaving after almost two hours. He informs Shankar what he had seen. What will Shankar do now?
